England, 1894. Earth is invaded by Aliens, and they are attacking England amongst numerous other countries. Fortunately, a group of people, an organisation that always stayed in complete secretly save for the higher instances of the government and some contacts around the country, is making its first public appearance and statement on public places and newspapers: "We are ready to repel the aliens. We will help you defend the world. We are prepared."
The Organisation dispose of technology and war-machines like no one ever saw or imagined before. Amongst those are the Steam Squad: Groups of power armors that provide their operators with great strength, speed and protection. This strength allows them to carry as much weaponry as 12 men could carry, and an armor plating than no horse could pull. These machines are powered by steam, which is provided by a war chariot that is connected to the armors by a tube. All these war machines are armed with weapons of high technology that the best scientists in the world conceived.
Steam Squad is a Beat'em Up videogame with a strong emphasis on cooperation. The game's main focus is multiplayer. That is not to say that there isn't any single player mode or that playing alone is not enjoyable, but the strength of the concept lies mostly in the multiplayer mode.
